For 285 of the companies in the Standard & Poor’s 500, all the handwringing about market problems this year was just noise. At these companies, all the year’s losses have been completely erased. And for a more elite set of 102 companies, it has been a good year as they’ve already gained 10% or more. Another subset of seven stocks are up 30% or more this year (see list below).
