US STOCKS-Wall St falls further on economic worry

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended lossesFriday, pushing the benchmark S&P 500 index down more than 1percent, as a government report showing growing job losses inAugust added to worries about the economy and profit outlook.

The Dow Jones industrial average slid 95.18 points,or 0.85 percent, to 11,093.05. The Standard & Poor's 500 Indexdropped 12.08 points, or 0.98 percent, to 1,224.75. TheNasdaq Composite Index shed 20.64 points, or 0.91percent, to 2,238.40. (Reporting by Ellis Mnyandu, Editing by Kenneth Barry)
