The 2024 election marks not only a great political comeback, but a historic realignment. Fueled by a multi-ethnic, working-class mandate that cut into many traditional Democratic advantages, President Trump has an unmistakable mandate to continue the successful policies of his first term.
It is most disappointing therefore that Senator Josh Hawley has chosen this historic moment to work in earnest on labor reform legislation that does little more than regurgitate the same tired, obsolete policies thoroughly rejected at the ballot box in 2024. Touted as a novel approach strengthening workers, his legislative “framework” appropriates the same misguided nostrums proposed in the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act endorsed just months ago by Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz.
