Interview w/ Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm


Now that General Motors has entered bankruptcy, what does this momentous event mean for the Michigan and the broader economy?  Governor Jennifer Granholm (D-MI) discusses the impact on both autoworkers in Michigan and workers around the country from suppliers to advertisers and pension-holders.  She says unemployment will rise, and worker retraining programs are key to avoiding further spikes in joblessness.  In the end, Governor Granholm is confident that General Motors will emerge successfully from bankruptcy and produce cars that meet the demands of 21st Century consumers.
