IBM Profit Climbs 12%; Raises Full-Year Earnings Forecast
IBM Corp. late Thursday reported a 12% increase in second-quarter profit, as higher margins for software and services offset sales declines across the company's business. Even though sales dropped by 13%, the technology giant said it was confident enough in its earnings to raise its full-year profit forecast by 50 cents a share.
