Dalio: "What Keeps Me Up at Night"

|

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio discusses the European debt crisis and global economy's future with Foreign Affairs' Jonathan Tepperman.

“What keeps me up at night is that we are in a one-world economy and all of the world’s economies are now slowing and, we are close to a zero-interest rate…if we do hit an air pocket and go down, what worries me is there is not the right mix of fiscal and monetary policy to deal with it because people, policymakers don’t have the historical frame of reference.”

Dalio emphasizes the wisdom, restraint, and historical awareness necessary to balance fiscal and monetary policy and discusses the promising financial condition of emerging markets and how countries can structure a successful economic deleveraging.
