Scott - the article in today's NY Times about GE's effective tax rate is interesting. Does it concern you that earnings might be somewhat higher than normal due to this kind of "tax avoidance"?

The private sector, once again, shows that it can innovate, respond, produce more and cheaper. Isn't the rise in Corporate Profits to GDP the result of non-US profits? I think these are in the profit numbers, correct me if wrong. Since non-US have been growing faster for a long time, this would bias the graph.
