Cisco: Ralph Nader Turns Activist Investor

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader has transformed himself into a shareholder advocate.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Nader this month sent a private letter to Cisco CEO John Chambers describing the performance of the company’s stock as “appalling,” and complaining that the company has not done enough to boost the shares. Nader specifically suggests that the company pay a $1-a-share one-time dividend, while boosting the regular annual rate to 50 cents, from the current 24 cents.
