I’ve changed careers nine times since I was 22 years old. I’ve changed wives, lived in five different cities, and probably got disgusted with myself on each change. But that’s the point – the world evolves and we, as individuals, need to evolve with it. Just because an industry dies, or jobs move to China, or a beach resort called Greece defaults in the Mediterranean, doesn’t mean the economy, the world…or you, are dead. It just means things evolve. The gambling moved from horses moved to cards. Typewriters moved to computers. Steam moved to electricity.
Right now we’re going through a massive change. The earthquake that occurred across the financial system in 2008, combined with the mass globalization brought on by the Internet, is causing the death of many industries. As always, since the dawn of capitalism, there will be winners and losers:
