What's Unemployment? Take a Wild Guess

ADP told us last Thursday that the US economy produced 157,000 new jobs in June. The Bureau of Labor Statistics told us on Friday that the US economy produced only 18,000 new jobs in June. Which one is right? ADP counts private sector jobs by looking at data collected from the 500,000 payrolls it processes each month. The BLS uses two separate surveys to estimate employment, the household survey and the establishment survey. The BLS, unlike ADP, includes government jobs in their count. All these methods produce different results but none of them are more than what we called a WAG during my Navy days. WAG is short for Wild A**ed Guess.
