During the month of August we recorded 198 new buyback authorizations. We have not had a month of this significance since February 2008. September 2001 is the largest month on record with 294 authorizations. On a value basis, repurchase authorizations have averaged $40 billion per month since 2005, last month was slightly above the average at $43 billion.
