The profitable opinion is rarely the popular one. In this environment, it seems that any view that doesn't fan the populist flames will be held to task.
As social mood sours and our oft-discussed tricky trifecta plays through in spades, the easiest thing to do is keep your head down and stay under the radar. As more and more people assume that stance, precious few have the ability "” or desire "” to make an effort to move the needle in a more positive direction.
I've been trading for more than 20 years and writing in real-time for over a decade. During that stretch, I've made several observations that weren't particularly popular but proved prescient with the benefit of hindsight. We've never been back-patters or victory lappers in the "?Ville "” it doesn't help and nobody cares "” but I'll share a few of those calls to help paint the picture.
