Microsoft CEO Search Now Gets Interesting

Microsoft Corp.â??s $7.2 billion deal earlier this week to buy Nokia Corp.â??s handset business has brought renewed attention to the conspiracy theories that first surfaced when Stephen Elop left the software giant in 2010 to become the CEO of Nokia.

Now, his name is being tossed about as the lead candidate to replace Steve Ballmer, who announced that he would retire as CEO of Microsoft within the year. But he isnâ??t necessarily a shoe-in.
