Don't Pity the Shuttered Govt: It's Not a Person

The state is not a person. It cannot claim moral superiority in its histrionic attempt to convince us that it is persecuted by the very people conducting it.  It is not an individual with a conscience.  It is a vast bureaucratic system, funded by the extracted profits of the productivity of its citizens and debt.  Since the introduction of fiat currency, it has printed its own money and determined its value in large part with crude consideration for the prices that would be set in a market of freely trading enterprises.  The very notion that economists would have considered an arbitrary platinum coin a solution to government problems is proof of its status as absurdly non-human.
