The NFL sets the standard of success by which competing pro sports leagues are judged.  It makes the most money, garners the highest ratings, and sets the trends.  The NFL Network launched a decade ago, and it took MLB until January 1, 2009 to establish its own 24/7 channel.  Footballâ??s expansion onto Thursday night, despite head-to-head competition with NBA games on TNT, has also been a success.
