Treasury Secretary Jack Lew & Co. think MetLife, a company that provides fairly simple insurance products, is such a scary outfit it should be designated a “systemically important financial institution” — aâ??kâ??a SIFI, aâ??kâ??a “too big to fail” — and get the same rigorous oversight as all those high-rollers that gave us the 2008 financial crisis.
