Do Regulators 'Braking' Banks Block Growth?

A little bird familiar with the operations of a major bank tells me that Federal regulators rule over banks’ loan portfolios with an iron fist.

The extent of their oversight came as a surprise to me. I am told that in the here and now, regulators have decided that since the economy isn’t growing, there is no reason any bank’s loan portfolio should grow.

This basically prevents banks from providing credit to grow the economy.
