Biotech stocks were one of the hottest sectors in the U.S. stock market from late-2011 until this past summer, having risen by 340 percent in that time. I believe that the biotech stock boom is part of the overall U.S. stock market bubble that I’ve been warning about. The global market turmoil in the past few months triggered a 22 percent plunge in biotech stocks as investors sold off overvalued shares in speculative sectors.
