Retirement experts keep telling us that you've got to save at least 10% of your income a year to be able to build up a nest egg that'll be big enough to support you comfortably in your golden years.
Yet most Americans still fall far short of that savings rate goal. In a poll of workers who have 401(k) and similar retirement accounts, Northern Trust found that nearly two-thirds — 64% -- are socking away less than 10%.
