Is The World Getting Dumber?

Maybe it's just old age on my part—not keeping up with the changing times. But I can't shake the notion that a few years ago the world starting getting dumber. Last year I focused on the Trump campaign, as when he promised to pay off the entire national debt in 8 years, and when asked how responded “trade”. But it goes far beyond Trump; consider the recent Google controversy.
