Why Is Yield Curve's Prediction of Recession Being Dismissed?

As the U.S. yield curve again inverts (following its initial inversion last March), we again hear a growing chorus of economists simultaneously 1) concede that inversions have reliably predicted past U.S. recessions, and 2) insist “this time will be different.”

Those five words are the most repeated and regretted words in market history.
