President Trump boasted that the rust belt city of Youngstown would stage an economic rebound because he was going to bring jobs back to the region. Three years later, the region's economic performance is even more dire than before - indicating again that the old economy is simply not going to return.
Trump went so far as to urge people in the Mahonning Valley to stay put and not sell their homes because the jobs “are all coming back.”
