Capitalism's Much-Better 'Fetters'

There is a long history of decrying “unfettered capitalism” to justify the imposition of added fetters of various sorts on our freedom to choose how and with whom to productively associate. For instance, Jonah Goldberg noted late last year how it had been utilized by people ranging from Economics Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz to “No bull” prize loser Bernie Sanders. Its common usage is also attested to by the over 800,000 hits the Google search I just did turned up, almost all claiming the need for more and “new and improved” fetters on capitalism.  Read Full Article »
