'Teachable Moment' About Supply-Chain Complexity
Problems with the global supply chain are a natural result of demand shifts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, proposed government interventions—such as fining shippers who don’t move their shipping containers fast enough, or requiring certain products to be made in America—will only exacerbate these problems. To solve them, governments should eliminate unnecessary regulations that impose artificial barriers on the supply chain.
