Samuel Johnson, the English essayist, Tory and devout Anglican said: “Ignorance, when voluntary, is criminal, and a man may be properly charged with that evil which he neglected or refused to learn how to prevent.”  I can’t think of a more fitting quote to describe woke historical revisionism, and the criminals are our “Ivy League Elitists” who are so consumed with political indoctrination and hate that they refuse to give proper deference to the workings of history.

It is expected that West Point will be “ordered” to remove Robert E. Lee’s portrait. The Left’s war against the South has nothing to do with understanding the reasons leading to the South’s secession, but everything to do with hating the South for its “anti-central government” culture. If academics acknowledged the real reason for the South’s secession, they would also have to acknowledge the inequities imposed upon the non-elite by today’s tax and spend political patronage system.  Before I embark down this road, let me defend Robert E. Lee.
