Escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine came to a head early Feb. 24 when Russia launched a deadly invasion into its neighboring nation, bringing explosions and missile strikes in Ukraine's capital of Kyiv and several other cities. The fallout from Russian military aggression in Ukraine and global retaliatory measures against Russia have been weighing on global financial markets throughout 2022.
