Charlton Heston best defined the economy: “It’s people!” And the southern border is a thorn in the economy’s side. My goodness, what a disaster. There are so many bright people in this country, so why can’t we figure this out? The powers that be probably don’t want to figure this out. As with goods and services, the only people who should be allowed entry are those who’ve been invited, and for those who haven’t been invited, they must apply. If no one’s vouching for them, then of course they must be vetted, but what’s happening at the border resembles nothing close to an application process. Better not share these thoughts. Sick of idiots calling me “racist.” I don’t fault the people who are trying to get into the country. Like democracy, the U.S. is the least-bad option, but the current shitshow cannot stand. Maybe I can do to the border what I did to Twitter—I mean X.
