Every Christmas season, I have composed a “review and outlook” for the economy set to the rhythm and meter of Clement Moore’s classic, “A Visit from St. Nicholas.” In this year’s rendition – the 40th – “Santa” shares with me his perspective on a wide range of the past year’s most important economic news developments.
’Twas the night before Christmas ’neath a nearly full moon,
And I knew that Santa would be landing quite soon.
So as in years past, by the fireside did I wait
