Earlier this month I took my son down to Tampa to catch a few Spring Training games and, while I was sitting in the grandstands watching the Yankees take on the Blue Jays, I was struck by the similarities between baseball and politics.
Both have given rise to heated factionalism and are deeply ingrained in the American psyche; both have long histories of shady, backroom dealings but also instances that transcend any divisions; and both come to a generally exciting culmination in early November.
