The legislative process occasionally works in California!
From time to time, the California Legislature refers a complicated matter to a special agency, the California Law Revision Commission, for in-depth analysis. The Legislature recently did so by asking if California should consider imitating a specific New York State bill or a US bill introduced by Sen. Klobuchar. At hearings earlier this month, testimony before the California Law Revision Commission supported not following those examples. This would be a victory for California’s competitiveness, and the nation’s inventiveness.
