The FTC's Villains du Jour Are the Pharmacy Benefit Managers

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 was epochal in that--for the first time ever– it gave the federal government the power to negotiate the price of certain prescription drugs with the pharmaceutical companies.

This unprecedented step created a conundrum for politicians: If people still perceive that drug prices are too high after the government starts setting prices, and Big Pharma isn’t to blame, they might blame the politicians.
