U.S. vs. China In Tech May Open Up Central Asia

The U.S. Trade Representative’s Office imposed a new aggressive schedule of tariffs on Chinese imports on Friday, Sept. 27th. Following a two-year review, the Biden-Harris team has opted not only to retain most Trump-era tariffs but to escalate them. On Sept. 27th, these will include a 100% tariff on electric vehicles, 50% on solar cells, and 25% on steel, aluminum, EV batteries, and key minerals. Observers believe that this is a massive blow to Beijing.
