After Enron filed for bankruptcy early in December 2001, the Department of Justice opened a criminal investigation on January 9, 2002; raided Enron’s headquarters starting on January 22, 2002; indicted Enron’s outside auditing firm on March 14, 2002; and secured a guilty plea against Arthur Andersen, LLP on June 15, 2002.
