Thank goodness Rep. Thomas Massie wasn’t re-elected. And no, that’s not a knock on Massie’s policy views in total, many of which are easy to agree with. What’s makes his election loss more agreeable than it should be is that it means one fewer less politicizing Social Security on the way to 2032.
Still, a focus on the odious politics of "entitlements" is getting ahead of what’s true: there’s no looming “insolvency” for Social Security, not in 2032, 2052, or 2102. It’s all politics, from both sides.
