I wish I didn’t have to write this article. I’d rather be hanging out on the beach having super models dropping grapes in my mouth, fetching me beer and telling me how brilliant I am. But alas, someone needs to be a beacon of truth, an oracle for the people, and fate has saddled me with this responsibility.
I once voted for a Democrat. My godfather, Tayloe Murphy was as fine of a man there ever was. I loved him and although he is gone, I still love him. Tayloe was of an ancient Virginia family, well known for their kinship with many Founding Fathers and ownership of beautiful homes. Tayloe was a legislator in the Virginia General Assembly, and he was famous for his courteous, gentlemanly manners and keen mind. If Webster’s dictionary had a picture to illustrate the definition of each word, Tayloe’s picture would be beside the word “gentility.”
I was 17, and Tayloe had a primary opponent, and Virginia law allowed one to vote in the primary if that person would be 18 before the general election. I wanted to support Tayloe and voted for him even though I knew I would not vote for him that November. I figured that would be good sportsmanship. Before the election, I called Tayloe and asked to meet with him to tell him I would not be voting for him on election day. As I recall, the Republican candidate ran an automotive junkyard and a used car lot. I agreed with his policies. Tayloe was too much of a gentleman to be upset with me, but what I remember most was his confusion. It appeared that he was shocked that I would vote for a “merchant,” a man who ran an auto junkyard, a man who did not wear a regimental bow tie and who did not go to an elite boarding school. As I mentioned, I loved Tayloe, he was the greatest and most thoughtful godfather of all time, but he was definitely an elitist. That sense of elitism still defines the Democratic Party, “you are one of us, therefore you have to vote with us and think like us.” Even today, I get the impression that most Democrats have no idea what their party believes or feel as they have any duty to question their leaders, they belong to the tribe and are willing to do what they are told.
Although I have always voted Republican, I don’t identify that way. My self-identity is one of a principled conservative who is a fervent believer in limited government and economic freedom, one who understands how our intrinsic human nature drives history and the lessons to be learned from this interaction. Besides, I think 80% of Republicans are a bunch of pussies and political opportunists.
The day after Donald Trump’s conviction in the so called “Hush Money” case, I went out to Green Top in Ashland, Virginia and bought a bunch of rounds of ammunition. We are in a civil war. I am a licensed lawyer. I think most lawyers are sketchy, pettifogging members of the Snopes family, but the law as handed to us is to be revered. What kind of people create a Soviet style show trial to justify putting their political opponent in jail? Very, very bad and dangerous people. As bad as these acts are, the most heinous act is the utter destruction of the Rule of Law for political purposes.
If one tosses a frog in a pot of boiling water, the frog will leap out of it in less than a second. However, if one puts the frog in a pot of water, and then slowly heats the pot up, the frog will not notice the difference until he can’t leap out and slowly dies while he thinks “what a dumb ass frog I am not to notice what these commie bastards were doing to me.” To this I say, hello you dumb ass frogs!
I just got back from a trip to the south of France, Italy and Iceland. English is the lingua franca of not only these countries, but the whole world. Why dear readers? I’ll tell you why, the Rule of Law. Our Anglo-American system of justice, common law dating back more than a thousand years, our constitution, system of federalism and the republican nature of our governments have created the largest prosperity boom in world history. There is fairness, predictability and protections against government overreach. Capital and contracts are protected and honored, so much so that the dynamic nature of our wealth producing private sector and its creations are envied across the world. If you want what we have, you need to speak our language and become assimilated into our culture.
Fellow frogs, all of this is at risk, and we are now living in a pot of boiling water with a despotic, tyrannical government infused with nihilistic tendencies to destroy the good in favor of the bad. C. S. Lewis stated “One of the most cowardly things ordinary people do is to shut their eyes to facts.”
Stormy Daniels extorted Donald Trump for money. She stated in writing many times she did not have an affair with him. The Biden administration sent their # 3 man at the Justice Department to New York to cook up a case against Trump. After spending millions of dollars trying to find a crime, the only thing they came up with was how a settlement agreement payment paid to a lawyer was characterized on a business general ledger. New York has a statute that makes it a misdemeanor to make a false statement on a business record. The statute of limitations on this alleged infraction ran out years ago. After reviewing tens of thousands of journal entries, this is the one thing the persecutors found. New York says marking this as a legal expense was factually inaccurate, but don’t say how such book entry should have been characterized. How else would a bookkeeper characterize a payment to a lawyer other than a “legal expense.” Moreover, what on earth does it matter?
To put this in perspective, let’s say you are a yoga instructor in New York. You go to Target and buy a yoga mat, and in your checkbook, you record the transaction as a payment to Target for “business expenses.” It of course is a business expense. According to Alvin Bragg, the State of New York and the secret proxies of the Biden Administration, you bought a yoga mat and you deserve to be jailed. That is the extent of Trump’s non-crime crime, but where you as a yoga instructor deducted the yoga mat as a business expense, Trump didn’t even do that. There is no obligation for a private company to even keep a record of any of its expenses. Moreover, Trump’s bookkeeper made the entry, Trump didn’t even know about it. Virtually every business in New York state has violated this law, probably hundreds of times. The case is the absurdity of absurdities, and I have only touched upon a few of the absurdities. For this one journal entry, the leading candidate for presidency is to put in jail by his opponent.
All of the other lawfare cases against Trump are equally absurd and orchestrated out of the Biden White House. It is absolute fact confirmed by the special prosecutor that Obama, Biden, the FBI, the CIA and other letter agencies interfered in the 2016 election by creating the Russian collusion hoax. The Hillary Clinton campaign paid the Perkins Coie law firm millions of dollars to fabricate the Russian collusion hoax, an act of treason, and marked the expense on its ledger as a “legal expense.” The Biden family had 187 Suspicious Activity Reports filed against them with the Treasury Department. Joe is on record giving stolen classified documents to his ghost writer, yet the FBI sent a swat team to Trump’s house with directions to use deadly force to retrieve documents that they already had access to which Trump had the absolute legal right to possess. I could go on for days about the corruption and despotic tyranny.
If you can’t see what is plainly in front of your eyes then you are the enemy. A government that is so transparent in its corruption and election interference is going to use every method at its disposal to hold on to power. There are many times more people rotting in federal prison for merely questioning the 2020 election than the prisoners in the Bastille in 1789. What is going on can’t stand. Any government willing to send an army of armed troops to the opposition candidate’s house on made up charges is a government that will bust your door down in the middle of the night and send you to the gulag. Despotism never ends on its own. It only retreats in the face of blunt force. We may well be shooting at each other soon. Things are headed in a bad direction, and I prefer to be on the beach with Gisele, Gigi, Kendall and Adriana.
Tayloe expected me to be part of his tribe, to let him and other elitists do my thinking for me and for me to give my blind support. If you are a Democrat, I suggest you open your eyes to tyranny and speak out against your party. Your voices may be our last chance to avoid another Bull Run. You might think it is politically expedient to look the other way, but I suggest you study up on Martin Niemoller and why he wrote these words:
“First they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
